Area 51 R2: Where is the M.2 slot on the motherboard?

Hey everyone,

I'd like to upgrade to a Samsung 960 PRO, but I just took a glance at the motherboard for my year-old Area 51 R2 and didn't see the required M.2 slot to insert it in. Am I going to need a pcie adapter? If so, can someone recommend a good one? Are there any performance comprises when using such an adapter?

In addition, I'd like to use the 960 PRO as my boot / Windows drive and use the SK Hynix 512 GB SSD the system came with for storage. Is this going to be a problem? Based on my past experience with Dell machines, an OEM drive coupled with an OEM copy of Windows = pain in the rear to change primary hdd.

Any help, especially in the form of a step-by-step procedure, would be greatly appreciated.
