Inspiron 5490 AIO *HDMI IN* Resolution

Inspiron 5490 AIO

Inspiron 5490 AIO

I have a Dell "Inspiron 5490 AIO" all-in-one desktop computer, which includes both an "HDMI Out" and "HDMI In" on the back. The Dell AIO includes a 24" display with a native resolution of 1920 x 1080.

I am trying to connect my work laptop to the "HDMI In" port. Everything works as expected except my work laptop sees the Dell display as having a maximum resolution of 1360 x 768.

What should I do so my work laptop sees the Dell AIO display as having a resolution of 1920 x 1080?

Thanks.

Ask for USB-C video adapter similar as pictured below.  Then connecting HDMI port from adapter to the AIO.

what is your laptop spec?  the issue may not be dell but your laptop max HDMI out resolution.

The work laptop is an HP ZBook Firefly G9 running Windows 10 Enterprise LSTC 21H2 64-bit, with a i5-1245U, Iris XE graphics, and 32GB of RAM. At work I connect to a 4K display using USB C (Thunderbolt?) and it drives both that display and the laptop display without issue.

I am able to connect a Raspberry Pi400 to the Dell using HDMI-In and it recognizes and displays 1920x1080. My guess is the problem is the work laptop then but I don't know what to tell my IT department to do.

Thank you! My IT department ordered me a Belkin version of the above, and it solved my issue.
