AW 15 r2 GTX965m Error 43

I have tried to get past this error code (43) which is showing against my graphics card in device manager.

Even the driver listed on the dell site comes back with the error code 43, always used DDU and full clean install.

I contacted Nvidia who advised to install their Hotfix driver version 387.98, because Alienware laptops with GM204 GPUs are not included in this driver release. Support for these products will be added in the next driver.

 For all of the drivers that I have attempted to install I booted into Safe Mode and ran DDU to uninstall the graphic drivers and then install the new driver still in Safe Mode.

Now with the hotfix whilst in safe mode it does not show the error code 43 but when restarting the my laptop the screen is black and I have to boot back into Safe Mode. As the card does not show the error code in safe mode I suspect that it does not have any issues.
