I have a 17R3, 6820HK, 980M, 32G Ram

I have recently replaced the battery. Now when running on battery and starting a game it switches itself off. It does not go through a shut down it just goes "dead". I then have to plug the charger back in to reboot. Once rebooted I can take the charger out and use it as normal. The moment I start a game it dies again. Any suggestions please? I am posting this while working on battery alone and it behaves fine. Bios is updated, I have disconnected the battery and pushed the power button for 30 seconds and reconnected the battery. Still the same and it drives me nuts.

Thanks for any help, Rob

Hi ‌,

We never recommend to play games on battery mode. But at this point, the only option is to update one more time the BIOS to the latest version, otherwise if the system is still in warranty you can send me a PM with the service tag so I can assist you further.
